Two types of online shopping and how they can help your business

How the pandemic has affected market preferences in online shopping

It is not foreign to hear of people shopping online nowadays, especially after the pandemic has affected other transaction methods except online transactions. The online shopping experience, too, has evolved since then as more users are using c-commerce. There are two types of online shopping that are widely used: c-commerce (conversational commerce) and e-commerce (electronic commerce). You may be familiar with e-commerce, but what is c-commerce?

The key difference between c-commerce and e-commerce is the mode of communication. C-commerce relies on messaging or voice interfaces to facilitate customer interactions, while e-commerce generally involves web-based interactions. Generally, c-commerce platforms offer personalized experiences based on customer behavior, preferences, and purchase history. They also provide real-time customer support through chatbots and other automated tools. In addition, with recent development of ChatGPT, businesses can benefit from using the AI tools to enhance their c-commerce execution. E-commerce platforms, on the other hand, offer more traditional web-based shopping experiences with customer service typically offered through phone, email, or chat.

Having said that, both types of online commerce are still applicable because they each have their strong points and provide slightly different experiences to customers. C-commerce is an ideal choice for businesses that offer personalized services or products. It can help businesses build better customer relationships and provide real-time support, which can lead to increased customer loyalty. E-commerce, on the other hand, is more suitable for businesses that offer a wide range of products and services that are not highly personalized. E-commerce provides an easy and accessible shopping experience for customers and can help businesses expand their customer base beyond their local market. At the end of the day, depending on your business model, either (or even both) of the online commerce types could help your business in the best way possible.
