Keat Meng has over 38 years of experience in auditing and advisory with EY LLP (“EY”). During his career with EY, he held multiple leadership roles in Asean and Singapore as the Head of Audit, Quality Enablement Leader and the Japanese Business Services Leader. He was also a senior member of EY’s management committee.
As a senior audit partner, he interacted with various business stakeholders on matters pertaining to their audits. He participates in speaking events, provides regular feedback on topical subjects pertaining to accounting standards and risk management, and volunteers on a number of key committees outside the firm. Keat Meng was awarded the PBM (Public Service Medal) for his distinguished work as Audit Committee Chairman for one of the Government bodies in 2015.
His extensive years of experience in conducting audits of large companies, and knowledge of risk management makes him a suitable candidate for leading the firm’s quality initiatives. As the Quality Enablement Leader, he is tasked to investigate cases of audit lapses/findings from inspections by the regulators and the firm’s in-house peer reviews. He also conducts training for the firm’s professional staff.
Partner, Corporate Finance and Advisory
Since starting Paloe (formerly known as Excide) in 2015, Sam has specialised in preparing seed-stage start-ups for Series A round. He has acted as interim CFO for various tech companies during their fundraising phases. He has also built financial models for more than 70 companies and honed the art of articulating their stories using numbers. Some of the companies he has worked with include PolicyPal, Moovaz, Geniebook, USEN, Rainmaker Labs, Gobbler.
Before founding Paloe, he was the pioneer batch of M&A professionals at KPMG to be sent to Myanmar. Thereafter, he took up an Investment Manager role with Maersk Group to explore infrastructure opportunities in Asia. Con-currently, he held the appointment of Deputy Lead in the Communities of Practice – Digitalization at Institute of Management Consultant Singapore.
Sam is also a certified Registered Management Consultant.
Partner, Finance Function Outsourcing
In Paloe, Julia leads the team to provide outsourced finance service to help companies from different industry sectors. Julia’s team helps businesses set up finance functions, conduct accounting maintenance, and provides financial strategic advisory and project CFO services. The team has contributed to many Singapore SMEs in their preparation for growth and transformation by strengthening their finance and business foundations.
Julia began her career as an auditor in PWC and has accumulated over 25 years of financial and management experience. She held various senior positions including President of SEA for Putien Restaurant, Independent Director and CFO for Pavillon ( Thai Village Holdings), COO for Singapore Raffles Music College.
Other than being a qualified CPA Australia, Julia is also a certified Practising Management Consultant – Bilingual in English and Chinese Language.
Partner, Digital Solutions
Together with Sam, Han-Sheng founded Paloe (formerly known as Excide) in 2015. As CTO, Han Sheng leads the product development team to develop Paloe’s suite of automation products and ensure the success of our clients’ digital transformation.
Han-Sheng has helped more than 20 startups launch their web platforms, working on projects in different business fields ranging from retail to B2B. He has worked with Gobbler, Carro, Kaligo (now Ascenda), Orange, Kyocera, Telstra, Bandwagon Music among others.
With a strong focus on adopting the best UX design principles and agile web development methodologies, Han Sheng believes that tech development should be as painless as possible, even for non-technical founders. He strives to make the most advanced technologies as accessible as possible. He also serves as technical advisor to budding startups in his free time.
